Blue Reach Charters runs a popular Catamaran Handling course, ideal for experienced monohull sailors looking to explore the world of catamaran sailing.

Practical courses are run aboard Blue Tango and commence in the Solent.  Departure is normally from Haslar Marina, although courses can be based from other locations, such as Southampton or Chichester, if this is more convenient.  

Prices include a maximum pupil/instructor ratio of 4:1, meals and drinks on board, mooring fees and fuel, and accommodation aboard Blue Tango for multi-day courses.

Catamaran Handling

Previous Experience Required

No previous catamaran experience is necessary. Day Skipper or higher qualifications are required.

Duration

This course is 2 days; Onboard accommodation is provided for the extent of your course together with diesel costs, berthing fees and all onboard meals. Special dietary requirements are catered for.

Content

This course is undertaken by competent and experienced monohull sailors who wish to understand the differences of sailing a catamaran. The course provides a short introduction to sailing and handling a catamaran at close quarters. By the end of the course, participants will have experienced manoeuvring a catamaran, sail handling, windage and be aware of the differences handling a catamaran to a monohull.
